Introducing a new place to see our handmade goodies: our new online shop. We have some of our own creations there, like the gocco cards and the ever-popular “West Philly” apparel, as well as a selection of fine goods from our local consignors. It’s quite a variety of items that will be changed and updated from time to time. Check out shopvixemporium.com and let us know what you think!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our event on Saturday. We had a great time. Keith sold several of his amazing pieces, including my favorite, a fabulous brass pair of earrings.
We see him here proudly showing his newest work, including the hat he’s wearing, made of fabric from a salvaged pair of pants. (I don’t think he’s in the hat business just yet, though.)
People of all ages (and a cat) lingered to listen to Birdie Busch’s lovely music until long into the evening.
This curious little fellow sneaked in to listen to the music, I guess. He’s very cute. I hope he found his way home safely.
It’s been too long since we had an event here at VIX. I forgot how much fun they can be! Our next one is planned for Saturday, September 13, featuring our good friend and brand-new dad, stained glass artist Mike Straight. Music TBA. Hope to see you then!
just married!
Last Saturday, the partners behind VIX made their partnership truly official. Emily and Sean were married on July 12, 2008 in an intimate and joyous ceremony, followed by lunch with a few close friends and family, then an overnight getaway at the Jersey shore. It was a wonderful day and the couple look forward to sharing many, many more together.
Stop by and wish them well if you like! There’s even a party at the store Saturday night…

Please join us for our next in-store event, when two very talented artists will be featured.
Keith King’s bold jewelry designs have made quite an impact at VIX — we’ve really never seen anything like them. He sculpts wire and sheet metal into dramatic and unusual jewelry, primarily earrings, but lately he’s been branching out into bracelets and other wearable art. Meet the artist and see some of his newest one-of-a-kind creations in silver, copper and brass.
Also joining us will be songstress Birdie Busch with a solo performance of some of her original compositions. Her music is whimsical and upbeat, with clever and inventive lyrics. She is truly a refreshing voice in the local singer-songwriter scene. A West Philly resident, she has two albums under her belt, “The Ways We Try” and “Penny Arcade”, both of which are available at VIX.
We’re honored to have both of these artists join us and we hope you will, too. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday, July 19, 6-9 pm.
